The Show
A recent acquisition, the great reissue of The World of Johnny Howard, prompted us to think just how many “Johnnies” there are in the world of Moonbase music. So on the show this evening, every track was either by a Johnny, written by a Johnny or mentioned a Johnny in the title…

To close the show, something a little off the usual Moonbase radar but one of my musical heroes left us far too young this week: the great singer/songwriter and pioneering guitarist, John Martyn. So I felt we should mark his passing. As it happens, he recorded a great tune with the name “Johnny” in the title:

20. John Martyn – Johnny Too Bad (12″ Extended Mix) (The Electric John Martyn, 1980/2003)
